After the Interview

@ 09:15 AM (6 months, 23 days ago)

Well, I had another interview with an instructor that teaches onland and online.  I am not sure how I feel about this research now. Brian (psuedonym for the person I interviewed) is extremely articulate and exact in his thoughts and words. When others listen to the audio recording, it will be very clear how commanding his voice is.  He's a thinker and he speaks authoritatively.  He knows what he thinks...he's a philosophy guy for god's sake.  He keeps records like crazy.  He's "seen this online trend coming since 1999."  After the interview I feel totally overwhelmed by my research/dissertation topic.  Intimidated. Not that my topic is too large, but that my research is not interesting or needed.

Another thought I have had is that the way he does his courses, he may only be technologically innovative. He seems to have standard lectures on all the philosophers and theories and can then just plug in the appropriate lecture at the appropriate time.  As I consider objectives and how teachers teach onland and online, I also have to consider the subject matter and the types of activities the instructor does use or wants to use.

So, I got my interview done, but I feel unsettled.  And I am waiting on the audio file of the interview.  I will relax a little bit when I get that from him and can begin transcribing.
